Both my dive trips to Kicker Rock were set up through travel agents based in the Galapagos. Apparently very little gets booked in advance in San Cristobel, but if you have two people you should be able to get out, though you may have to pay a higher day rate (one of my trips they found another 2 divers to join us and the cost for the day decreased). It's much more difficult to arrange a KR trip as a solo traveller as they need to find at least one more firmly committed person to take the boat out. Leslie at DTG can book it (and recommend local ops), or the local manager of whichever liveaboard you book might also be able to book it. It won't actually be confirmed until very close to the date of the trip.

you never know what you'll see. My spring trip had far more hammerhead sharks. Fall trip had whale sharks.
my panga group saw 5, other group struck out. Read "voyage of the Beagle" by Chuck Darwin, at least the Galapagos chapters.
