    I'm gonna retire again......

...take my early Social Security, cut my hours at the University to half time to cover the amount of money I can make while taking SS (it'll be more than I can make, but the Great State of NC does not charge me any income tax anymore so I will make up the one of every two the Feds will take for the next four years)...and go back to school. There is a doctorate in Coastal Marine Studies that has been languishing in my personal Purgatory for a number of years and I think I might be able to finish it in that time......or I might learn outboard motor repair....
...it is only serendipitous that I find this time coincides with the reign of a person I suspect hopes to be a social justice president in the mode of Lincoln or Johnson and a vice president I suspect is an idiot. I shall try and keep as many tax dollars to myself as I can for these next few years.....
Mike...last time I posted something about taxes someone crawled out and heaved a stone. Don't worry I'll still be at a minimum in the 25% bracket , trying to stay away from the 28........as Jed would say. "Peace out".....

I can't believe you called Biden an idiot. He's not an idiot. He's a drunken ass-clown.

Good luck with whatever path you choose.

    Might As Well Cap'n Mikey...(+)

...collect your early Social Security. If you remember correctly, those peckerwoods in the guvmint, didn't take income tax out of your paltry pay in Viet Nam (wasn't that nice...), but they sure as hell deducted your Social Security tax right off the top.

Retirement works for me... Obama loves me

cool Mikey . . . I love the education gig . . . have wanted to do that myself (as in "finish my BS" . . and no, not the BS you're thinking of) but just can't seem to get it started . . . retirement was SO much fun, I've taken a part-time job shuttling used and new cars and parts and customers around . . when they call . . not often but enough that I hope I can get some "beer & boat" money . . . mostly boat (but you already know all about that) . . . . be careful that you don't monopolize Lola's time though . . . she'll let you have it . . . pay more attention to the dog, they always have time for "Dad" . . . and seem to appreciate it more too!! . . . . hope to see you in July at the RSF&H as my buddy . . enjoy . . you've earned it!
Life isn't fair - DEAL WITH IT and move on!! (preferably . . silently)

Way to go. Lord knows you've dodged your share of bullets (paid, underpaid, and a few just for shits and giggles).I little time learning on the outboards would probably serve you best, considering the fact that there must be about a million in one eye shot, no matter where you're standing. I'm ready for a little wetness myself Genie or not. Give me a shout when it's time.
    Peace,

I worked while in college in the '70s for the USPOD (United States Post Office Dept.--LONG before it become USPS private) and as a dept. store security guard. Also worked as a musician (but didn't make much) in the '70s-'90s. My adult life and career was in Canada. I can't get ANY Social Security money now that I'm old. Canada has it's own plans and I get money from them, but WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MONEY TAKEN FROM MY PAYCHECKS(QUES) BACK THEN IN THE US ?

This sounds like a plan. I am intending to wait a few years until full Social Security but even that is in sight. See you in July.

TMH...it is probably part of what I spent today to put 4.20 gallon gas into the boat!!! But thanks....and honestly, thanks for those hot sweet French Canadian girls the 60's and 70's produced.
Wejeii...I would wait but my LEO supplement leaves me and I have gotten used to that extra fifteen hundred or so, plus I am protesting in my own pathetic way....
Mike....I saw a 5.56 magazine going for 170.00 today....it amazes me that the more congress and the administration talk about gun control the more people buy every firearm out there...
